Get Involved
How can you serve the St. Peter’s Parish community? Here are some opportunities. Looking for support? You may find it here.
A community is only a community when the majority of its members are making the transition from “the community for myself” to “myself for the community”. – Jean Vanier –
Boys and girls from grade three and older having received First Communion are welcome.
Call Tom & Nicole (613-394-5377).
Are you a Catholic woman 16 years old or better? Then you are welcome to join the Catholic Women’s League and enjoy opportunities to grow spiritually and to share your time, talent, and fun with other women.
The CWL raises funds for various causes and donates to many organisations such as Birthright, Feed the Children, and youth group, and provides scholarships for the Catholic Schools in Trenton.
For more information, call the Parish Centre and ask to be put in touch with Karen about the CWL.
Better still, come out to a meeting. The Catholic Women’s League meets at 7 pm in the parish centre (use the Queen Street entrance) on the first Tuesday of the month between September and June. We look forward to meeting you!
CHILDREN’S LITURGY OF THE WORD
This is a liturgy of the Word designed for children from age 3 to end of first grade. Children meet at 8:50 am Sunday in the parish centre and join their parents in the church for the liturgy of the Eucharist at about 9:25 am.
Children’s Liturgy of the Word is offered during the school year.
An organization of more than 20,000 young men who have fun and share their Catholic faith, help people in need, and enjoy the company of friends in social, family, athletic, cultural, civic and spiritual activities. As a Squire, you’ll be a member of one of more than 1,300 “circles” located throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, the Philippines, the Caribbean, and other places where Knights of Columbus councils are located. Every circle is sponsored by a Knights of Columbus council, and Knights serve as adult counselors to the group.
A Squires circle is designed to be run both by and for young men. Through their local circle, Squires work and socialize as a group of friends, gradually developing into Catholic leaders.
Squires graduating from the program at age 18 are eligible for college and vocations scholarships offered by the Knights of Columbus Supreme Council office. They are urged to join the Knights to continue their commitment to Columbanism.
If you are a Catholic young man, 10 to 18 years old, you should be a member of the Columbian Squires!
The Fr. Justin Hanley Circle meets meets the first Friday of every month at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 57 Stella Cr., Trenton. Phone 613-392-2310 if you are interested in joining and for more information about this Circle.
COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE
The Communications Committee assists other groups in communicating with parishioners and with one another using the parish bulletin, local newspapers, and parish web site.
There is a continuing need for members of the parish to commit themselves to one hour of prayer a week in the Eucharistic Adoration Chapel. Perpetual prayer is a blessing to the parish, the universal church, the world, and especially to the adorer.
Substitutes – people who cannot be available every week but who may be able to fill in for regular adorers who are ill or out of town – are also needed.
If you would like to add your name to the schedule – even for a few weeks – call 392-1069, 392-8898, or 392-1509.
